I've been searching the internet for a while trying to figure out what to get.

I have a Colt LE6920 that I would like to put a scope on to do some groundhog hunting and probably target shooting.  Would like to be able to reach out 300 to maybe 400 yards.  Not real sure what I could pull off but that seems reasonable.  16" barrel.

I picked up a used LaRue 1" mount so I'm gonna go with a 1" scope.  I'd like to keep the price $500 or under but if need be I can go more.  Just want to get a good scope.

I'm really considering the Leupold Mark AR.  I stopped by a store and looked through some scopes today.  He pulled out some Weavers that were interesting.  I think they may have been the super slams.

What are some suggestions?  I think I want something that will help me reach out and be a little tactical at the same time.  Thinking mil dots or something like that.  Not just cross hairs.  Or maybe just cross hairs! Whacko

I could honestly probably buy a cheap scope and it would work but I want something pretty good.

Thanks

Somany choices...lol

Mark AR, Nikon M223, Vortex Diamondback, Bushnell Elite, Weaver, etc

At those ranges, I would go with a 3-9 or 2-7

The Nitrex TR Two 3-15X42mm Rifle Scope Matte Finish Etched EBX Reticle that SVT pointed out from the sample list is a good buy for the money.

You will have close-long range, side focus, ok glass, etc.

Any opinions on the Weaver Tactical Grand Slam 3-10x40.  Guess SWFA doesn't carry it.

I put a 3-9 x 40 Rapid Z600 Zeiss Conquest on my 6.5 Grendel. It works wonderfully.

Yes. It's # ZEI5214609971 and the rebate is for real. It's a very nice scope BTW.

And the Zeiss is a couple of steps above the Weaver.

That would be awesome if my LaRue mount had 30mm rings...

Not trying to push my scope on you, but you can get 30 mm rings for you Larue mount without buying a new mount, I had to do that in the past.  They don't list them on the website, you will have to call them.

I'm sorry. I didn't see where you already had a 1" mount.

Yeah I inquired about that.

Think I deleted the email but I believe was like $40 plus shipping.

I got a decent deal on the mount kinda hate to delete the savings by buying different rings.  Guess I could try to sell the 1" rings.
