I am looking at this scope http://swfa.com/Bushnell-45-30x50-Elite-Tactical-34mm-Rifle-Scope-P61360.aspx  . I was wondering if any one has seen/looked thru this scope? I know the 6500 series the glass was not the best from what i have read. This is there newest release and is supposed to have better glass. I was hoping someone has looked thru it. I know thats a lot of money for a bushnell, but it has the features and magnification range I am looking at/for.

For that kind of money I would be looking at a Kahles. And in my personal experience anything over 20x is really not usable. I have a Nightforce 8-32x56 that I very rarely can use over 20x.

I am guessing that you are going to use it on a 308. If so even if you were going to shoot at 1000yds which is really pushing the limits for a 308 if not going over them. A target at 1000yds with 20x will look similar to one at 50yds without any magnification.

Also if you tell us what you intend to use this for and at what ranges both min and max we would be happy to help you with some options. Also the Bushnell you mentioned has a limited adjustment range for elevation.

And if you want to save some money for ammo etc. I would look at the SS 5-20.

ok, it will be going on a armalite ar-50 . i can see me shooting at ranges from 200 to 11-1200 yards, mostly less than 1000. My concerns are eye relief and magnification range in case this ends up on a "normal" rifle. I am not sure on the 5x25 SS it looks nice, but I have never looked thru one much like the bushnell. I do have a 6500 2.5-16 that i am happy with. My "nicest" scope i own is a Burris black diamond so you have some idea what i have to compare against. My biggest complaint about it is eye relief its on a 300 Ultra mag and anything above 20x and i get scope kissed. basically i want to spend at most right around 2k with rings. I already own a set of 34 mm seekings rings thats another reason i was looking at the bushnell. Open to suggestions. Thanks.
