Every year one or two of my Butler Creek lens covers snaps, mostly in cold weather and when i could use it the most, hunting in heavy brush and bad weather. These seem to get brittle when cold and shear off at the slightest lateral push on their hinge.
Is there anything better?

I think BC has decreased in quality over the past few years. I replaced some BC caps on my Leupold VX-R with the Alumina covers. Kinda $$$, but they work really well.
Looking forward to whatever Jon A is referring to.

I have switched over to the Vortex covers & have had absolutely no problems! They're not perfect but much better than Blunder Creek.
It would be nice to have another maker come out with something that will work & not cost $75 like the ones on my Premier. Give us a hint JonA,please. |

Did I mention a lifetime, no questions asked replacement warranty? They're pretty close to indestructible so few should ever have to use it.
Still in the rollout phase, only available for a few select scopes but I'm adding more as fast as I can. I'll be sending a price list and what's available to Brady this weekend. There will probably be a good 6 months to a year where most will be on perpetual backorder as they're selling faster than I can make them, so people will have to just get in line if they want some. |

I might have to consider a set. I never could stand the BCs and the NF polarized ones might have been fine for the desert, but cost me a good shot on an elk on opening day once. I've been using neoprene covers ever since. I did finally lose one last year (wasn't on the scope, just hanging on the barrel) but they are also good protection and pop off fast.

Sweet X2. Really like they way they almost lay flat against the scope, not sticking up like BC's.
