We are going to start offering powder in our retail store but since we have never sold it before we would like some input on what is most popular.  I am seeing more and more Hodgdon products showing up in stock at various distributors right now.

Basically all of the Alliant, Hodgdon, and IMR brand powders. If you want to get extra fancy, you could add the Vihtavuori and Ramshot powders as well.

If you just start out with Hodgdon H322, H4198, H4350, H4831SC, H1000, Varget, & Benchmark, Alliant RL15, 19, and 22, Bullseye & Unique, and IMR3031, 4064, 4350 and 4831, and maybe Winchester 748, you'll probably get the lions share of your powder sales captured.

I'm not a pistol or shotgun reloader so I'll defer to others for their recommendations on that front. For rifle powders though, the Hodgdon and IMR powders are probably still the favorites and Alliant as well.

For specific powders, you'll want all the 4895 type you can get- IMR, Hodgdon or Accurate.
IMR 4198 and 4831, H4350 and H100V, TAC, Hunter... too many to mention.

Pistol- I burn lots of WW231 (HP-38), Unique and several V V powders. You'll want some HS6, Blue Dot, 296 and HS6...  get whatever you can.

These days, short of cordite, I don't believe any powder you can name will sit on the shelf collecting dust!

Everything I use has been mentioned already, 748, 296, 231, Unique, Tac, 3031, and a couple other IMR powders, but don't forget Trail Boss, Bulls Eye, and Red Dot too.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.
