I don't see any size spec's on the Vortex SPARC, how small are they, does anyone have a pic of one on a pistol so I can see how it looks. I was thinking about one for a Contender with a 10" 41mag barrel.

I ended up buying one for a 9mm carbine and I Love it on that but It's a little big for a pistol.

Been thinking about the Athlon Midas BTR RD11 too. Athlon says it will handle the recoil of the 41 mag.

My suggestion is to use the Aimpoint 9000L using dual dovetail rings . I put a Vortex Razor red dot on but did not like the base I had after the first range session, but if I went to a talley picatinny base it would have done well. Still not as solid a feel at the 9000L in dual dovetail rings on Encore 45-70 pistol. To me the dual dovetail set up is ideal for heavy recoil. The other good choice would be a talley one piece ringmount.
