Hi...
New to this forum, hope you guys can
help me out... I have a Remington 7MM mag that I bough 6 year ago... I have no problem with it, but I have difficulties to get long shot, over 300+ yards. I still have the scope that came with the gun, but I really think this is why I might have some problem shooting at long range. I would like to know what you guys propose for scope or red dot with amplifier or scope with illuminated reticle… I don’t mind paying up to 1000$ if this will help me out with long shot… Thanks Stephan |

What scope came with the rifle and why do you think it is not capable of more than point blank range? Lets find out where you are starting from. Then we can move forward with scope choice. A red dot is more often for close range shooting and not long range. This gives the impression that more is needed than a better scope. Quality ammunition and training play a large roll too.

I got bear kill around 150 Yards no problem... it's the long shot over 300 yards... When I am stationnary at the shooting range, I can hit the target, but I am never sure of the shot... it's when I am in the field that thing change... The scope who came with it is a Bushnell, but no model and it's a 3x9 30mm.
Thanks

What model is the Remington? Just from the sound of it, you bought a 770 package gun. I wouldn't be spending a whole lot of money on a optic if that were the case.

You can't/don't tune a 770, you throw it away and get a new one.

Any thing can be made better. Maybe not the best but definitely better. The Leupold would be better than the Terra. There is a Conquest HD 5 3-15 on the samplelist that would be a good choice for $749. There is also a Swaro. Z3 2-10 with the BRX reticle for $779. Swaro. is hard to beat in this price range.
