How do I know at what distance should I mount my Camera with FOV 40mm to see the 40mm picture with max resolution?

Sir, welcome to OpticsTalk.
I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you mean how far away from the subject should you be positioned that you are photographing? Or you have a tripod with a variable positioning mount plate?

Hi Skylar McMahon
I have a Mounting platform to do that. I need this for an experiment in the lab I am working in. I need to make analytic observations (calculations) to mount my lens, mirrors and camera. So this is a generalised question. |

Well,
Field of View is measurement of angle, so I guess I don't understand what you are asking. Do you have a question about using a 40mm focal length lens?
