I would like to get a Benjamin Discovery .22 Air Rifle to shoot birds that are destroying our fruit crop. I am considering a 3 - 9 X 40 mm scope for it, but was wondering what scope ya'll would recomend. Anything special I should know when buying a scope? I noticed that some scopes are listed as "lighted" and use batteries. What are the pros and cons of that. Thanks

The Benjamin Discovery is a solid PCP air gun. For birds at varying ranges I would suggest the Leupold 3-9x33 EFR. It has fine optics and will adjust parallax down inside 10 yds. http://swfa.com/Leupold-3-9x33-VX-2-Rimfire-EFR-Riflescope-P51834.aspx |

Agree ^^^. That is what I have on my Air Arms TX200. As a matter of fact, two tree rats took the eternal dirt nap this AM thanks to that set-up. They likely did not like it... but I do! |

Thanks for replying. That looks like a nice scope, however it is a little out of my price range. I need to find something under $150. and preferably under $100. I should have stated this when I first posted.

How about these Weavers? They are quite nice and several members here use them.
