Hi Guys (Newbie Here)Big Smile

Bought a new Ruger 10/22 TakeDown in this past Jan.'15
Boy did I blow it. I bought a cheap BARSKA SCOPE $49.76
Went to the range to fire my sweet rifle for the first time
and low-and behold I couldn't see the RED DOT for nothing!

Too darn BRIGHT OUT there, Nevada get HOT & BRIGHT. There was NO
RED DOT to be seen. So I'll eat my mistake.

However, joining to forum I hope you guys can direct me towards a good scope, within a fair price range under $250.00 hopefully Yippee

I was looking at a couple of rimfire scopes till me what you think?
NIKON 3-9 X 40 and the:NIKON ProStaff Rimfire 3-9x40
In your view which scope would better suit my shooting as the most 100 yards.

I'd check out the Weaver line of rimfire scopes.

Welcome to the OT forums Schooner. I'll second Mark's suggestion for the Weaver scopes. I'd take that over a Prostaff any day. For a bit more $, the Leupold rimfire is good too.

I'd get a scope that allows you to adjust parallax, if I were you. Some of the Weaver's and the Leupold's B&B recommended allow this.

I have a Ruger 10/22 Takedown and it is an awesome little rifle.

The scope I have on it is an older Burris Fullfield II 1.75-5x20.  It is light and compact and sits very low, so it works well with the 10/22TD stock.

That particular scope is no longer made, but something along those lines would be a good option.

Weaver 2.5-7x28 Rimfire Classic is a good option.  I put it on my brother's 10/22 and it works beautifully.

Nikon Monarch 1-4x20, while not normally thought of as a rimfire scope would work well.

Vortex Diamondback 2-7x35 is also a good option, although it is a touch bigger.

How about the Sightron SII? Nice scope with a great warranty.

The smallest currently available Sightron SII is a 3-9x42 which is a little big for the rather trim 10/22TD in my opinion.

I'd agree with that assessment Koshkin. I was thinking from a optical quality perspective. I'm sure some of the other scopes may be just as good but it's hard to beat the SII for the money.

I have a Weaver Classic Rimfire  2.5-7 and a 3-9.  I think my 2.5-7 is much more clear than the 3-9.  Both are very nice on a 22 rifle.

on the larger side, the low cost BSA "Sweet 22" has pleasantly surprised me.  I have a sweet 223 also for that reason and it's been just as solid.

I really like the Weaver Classic Rimfire scopes. They aren't world-beaters, but they are way better than their price would seem to indicate, a solid value. I have the 3-9, have spent some trigger time behind the 2-7, and just installed 2 of the fixed 4x versions on my boss's .22LRs. All are nice scopes.
