Decided to take my project gun out and see how it faired. So I attended a 600x3 match this weekend at my club. I shot in the F-t/r division. I did shoot with a suppressor which the guys are cool with for a club match even though its against the rules since I'm just shooting for fun. My rifle is still more or less a factory "tactical" style gun shooting factory ammo a not a custom f class rifle shooting high bc hand loads.
Either way its about having fun and becoming a better shooter and learning your gear. the rig: 700P-308, factory 26" barrel, factory hs stock Timney 517 trigger NF 20moa base badger rings Vortex Razor II 3-18x50 mil harris bipod silencerco specwar 762 suppressor with coletac summit cover FGMM 168 Shoot 3 relays, each relay is 20 shots for record, unlimited sighters, 25 minutes. 1st relay 75 degrees, partly sunny, low wind (1-5mph my estimate) semi constant mostly left to right, shot 187-2X 2nd relay 80 degrees, mostly sunny, low wind but variable cross winds both direction changing speed and direction pretty regular, shot 183-1X 3rd relay 88 degrees, no clouds, sun baking everything, high mirage, low winds, but now just going every directions, flags all read different on both sides and all points on the course. shot 177-4X. Gun and scope did as well I expected it too, no issues. Suppressor locked up tight and I checked it between relays and it never budged. Only real issue with equipment was my mirage cover. by the end of each realy it would have moved forward about 3 inches or so. Id pull it back in place and retighten it before the next, but each time it worked it way forward a few inches. Which was really annoying because by the end of each relay im getting enough heat off the barrel, i dont need any extra from the can adding to the mirage in the scope. Also i was worried it was gonna it was gonna fly off and they'd call cease fire. Myself I need to spend more time practicing my wind reading, and more time on the range sending rounds down range, making the call, and see what the result is. I looked through my data book after i was done. If you plotted all my shots out, they would be in a oval about 1 moa in hieght and about 2 moa wide. So got to work on those wind calls. Either way home to keeping getting out and learning the art, and shoot more of these. I snapped a few photos with the phone(sorry for the poor quality it takes) This is from the firing line during prep time. If you look really close you can see 5 target holders downrange above the numbers, for scale those are 6'x6'. The second photo is what I'm aiming at. x ring is 3" across, 10 is 6", 9 is 12"

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
