I have a Cooper Model 38 Montana Varminter in 22 Hornet. I plan to use this primarily for target shooting out to 200 yards. Thinking I would want a high powered scope for this work. The rifle should hold a 1/2 moa groups at 100. What type of scope would you think would fit the bill. Budget is up to $1200

Opinion,untempered by fact,is ignorance.
There are some who do not fear death... for they are more afraid of not really living |

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

(if it's not clear, you can't see it) - Always get one with parallax error adjustment/focus. - If your getting an AO optic, get it FFP. (If the reticle is just cross hairs, 4 plex for example, this doesn't apply) -Warranty are just as important as the scope itself. |

I would suggest a sightron s3 i went with the 10x50x60 30mm mostly cause i wanted and shot 224 at 600 and 1k and at 600 yards I could still see the impacts on paper for the follow up shot you could always move the scope to a larger gun and shoot further . At the time I got mine it was 1k should be cheaper now . We recently put it on a 22lr marlin and you can see the hits nicely at 400 yards with room to move further out , and glass that can do it.
