Shot him Saturday morning in North East Wyoming.

Actually missed this same deer Friday morning. Was lucky enough to get a second chance at him.

Beautiful deer... about as perfect a set of antlers as I've seen...

Are you sure it is a 12. I ran out of fingers, but I cant untie my shoes to count that high. Wink

Very nice Brady!

However, since you were in Wyoming ... that buck is clearly a 6 point.

That kept messing me up.  The guide would say, "Hey look at that nice 3 point buck" and it would take my brain a few seconds to translate it into Texan.  We count everything its got, even kickers and stickers.

Here's my 3 point from the same hunt.

I took a Remington 700 titanium in .30-06. I was sighting it in a few days before the hunt and couldn't get it to hold a good group. At best it was 3.5" group at 100 yards. I ran out of time so I had to just take it. The shot at this deer on Friday was about 300yds out. A bad rest and this 3.5” grouping in the back of my mind resulted in a miss.

I ended up borrowing the rifle in the pic from another hunter. Weatherby Vanguard in .270 did the trick.

Hahaha,

Growing up in my part of MT, we count the eyeguards (on one side only of course) on whitetails, but not muleys.  If you really want to get accurate with either species, you count all the points like so:  "I shot a nice 5X6 muley last week."

Go figure.
