Should I go with the vortex razer 11-33x compact or leupold 20-40x gold ring hd spotting scope. I like the idea of having a spotting scope that is compact but I hear the vortex has eye relief issues and that the leupold has focusing issues. I have never had a spotting scope and was wondering what the reviews were of these particular scopes. Or if you use spotting scopes which do you like to use? I need to keep it at 1000$ price range. Thanks for the help!

Vortex Razor HD 11-33x50 is the best compact scope I have ever tried and not by a small margin.

I have to agree with ILya, I bought the Razor and it is awesome.  I did have to get used to the eye relief  but not a big deal. I window mounted it observing deer on a Kansas hunt and the only time I wanted more was the last few minutes of hunting. I starts to struggle late in low light,  but it is only a 50mm.
