been looking around at riflescopes and my wife picked me up a vortex diamondback and at low power it seems like a fantastic scope but at higher power it has slight clouding to it and low light there is no real enhancement to it. I have wanted to try a steiner predator for a few years now and have found a new one in the magnification I want. I was told today that Burris makes these scopes for Steiner, is this so and what would be the difference between the steiner and Burris which is 100.00+ cheaper in the same power in Eurodiamond series. thanks for the help

Didn't think they made the EuroDiamond anymore. The might be why it's less expensive. The 1.5-6x40 I had worked very well for low light. Had good resolution, too.

I have a Predator 4-16x50 and also the 1.5-6x40 Eurodiamond. The Steiner has a Burris scan code on the bottom of the box, if that means anything. I have always assumed that Steiner used their own glass with manufacturing and assembly done in Greeley, CO. That is not a problem for me since I like Burris.
I do like the Predator glass better than the Burris when both are set to the same  magnification. I have constantly compared the Steiner to a Leica ER 3.5-14 I have and I am impressed. The Leica is better but not by much.  I have no problem separating critters from brush at 200 yards with the Steiner.
I think money on the Steiner would be well spent.
