For whatever reason, I started messing with panoramic pictures lately.  This was taken right after rain, so the air was pretty good for distances.

Very cool.  How do you take the picture?  Meaning, do you hand hold and twist your waist to get the image or have camera on tripod type mount and twist it or slide camera sideways on a rail to get image?  Do you correct the picture in Lightroom/Photoshop?
It sounds silly but all the panoramic pictures I have taken (not many) came out with the perspective off.

I usually handhold the camera, although with the tripod it works better.

The problem is that when I see an opportunity for a nice panorama, I do not always have a tripod in hand.

One thing I can recommend is to always stitch the images in post processing.  I take individual shots in Raw format and stitch them together in Lightroom.  Built-in panorama features I have seen in cameras are universally abysmal (weirdly, they are often pretty decent in phones).

Thanks for the info.  I will look more at stitching several photos to make one panorama.  The picture in my last post was taken with a galaxy note 5.  I didn't care for the results.

Samsung has decent panorama stitching software, but stitching images that were pretty wide angle to start with often gives a weird perspective.  I usually try to use something close to 50mm for panorama and then stitch several shots.

It can still have a weird perspective, but sometimes that is what you want if you are trying to draw the eye to something.

When you stitch pictures together for a panorama do you stitch the RAW image or the JPG or does it matter?

Edit: Nevermind  I answered my own question. You work with RAW until 100% done then go to JPG

Raw is preferred if you're trying to make the exposures and colors match from each image.

I normally just do JPG's and "make them work".

The pano feature on the iPhone works pretty well. I've used it to try to capture (mostly successfully) broad or tall landscape features.

This one turned out well, except the image was too grainy for printing:

The results with this were somewhat visually surprising. That's two lakes and one trail!
