So I decided to upgrade my 28 year old 10/22 carbine.  I estimate it has 30,000 plus rounds through it.  It has been a great little .22

Tactical Solutions barrel.  JWH bolt, Hornet Spitfire trigger group, Hogue stock, Leupold FX2 4x scope, Talley rings.  Only thing left original is the receiver.

It turned out great IMO.  It can't weight much over 4 lbs.  The tactical solutions barrels are aluminum with a steel liner, makes for a crazy light barrel.

Also bought a Tacital solutions barrel for my other 10/22.  It is 15 years old.

I use their barrels too, they can come pre-threaded.  They are plenty accurate and very light weight.

These are fun guns.

Was the quarter for scale?  Or the towel or the washer/dryer?

And it looks like that washer might be impeding a route of ingress/egress, is that not a fire code violation in your AO?

So what did it set you back?
Are those front loading washer and dryer, or are they secret entrances to you secret lab?

My safe is in laundry room, so the appliances were just a flat place to take a pic.  Had to find somewhere new since you made such a fuss about my awesome rug with my last gun pic.  Wink

Very nice! I have a Tactical Solutions "Pac-Lite" upper on my 22/45. I'm a fan of their stuff!

You can do a lot with a 10/22 it is amazing and they are fun.

It doesn't matter if you are hitting targets at 10ft or 1000ft they are just fun...

Those look awesome...Now be honest are they as reliable first time out or did you have to fidget with them?

Me being honest I have never had them run just as smooth without some tinkering...Then eventually they ran better but it always took some work...

I just put them together last night.  So I am not sure how reliable they will be.  In factory form they were great.  So we will see.

I have a similar setup (tac solutions barrel, hogue stock, valquartsen internals) and mine was good when built, no issues with reliability or function.

It was a nice rug, by the way.

I just went and shot the black barreled rifle.  2nd round a failure to fire.  It struck the primer but just didn't fire.  198 more rounds not a single feeding or firing issue.  I shot 3 mags full as fast as I could pull the trigger and it ran perfectly.

It spent a mag zeroing it and then I was hitting shotgun hulls at 50 yards most of the time.  Seems very accurate.  I am very happy with it.

I have a pink Hogue stock on the way.  Then I will hand over the stainless rifle to my wife at some point with that stock.  She will love it.

My barrel was about $250, Hogue was another $100, I think internals were another $100.

I could'a left it along, but now when I go to the range all the cool kids say, "man, that is an awesome gun!" which is why I built it in the first place!

I initially just bought the barrel as I needed a threaded one for my in process .22 suppressor.  Then I had to upgrade stocks to fit the barrel.  Then I realized how bad the trigger sucked on my 30 year old rifle.  Then I though why not buy a new bolt and charging handle why I'm at it.  Then I looked at those old Weaver rings and base and thought they needed upgraded too.

Then I thought I need a threaded barrel for my other .22 so I can shoot it with the suppressor too.  Then I thought, hey this hogue stock is cool I bet my wife would like a pink one too.

All because I bought a dang suppressor.
