I'm putting together a sorta, semi, almost wannabe M40 replica on my SPS Varmint and was looking at the Redfield and the Leatherwood replica scopes. Which of these price and reticle aside would function and hold up better.

Personally, I would do the Redfield, but that's just me.

And if you aren't going to do a real build, I'd consider a better scope and just be happy with the discrepancy.

Equality is something you whine about not being given.

Thanks for the help. Good thought there. Only thing is the green anodized scope was always a big part of the attraction of the original for me. Poorer quality glass within reason isn't the big deal for me because that's pretty much all I've ever had. Functioning reliably on the other hand does make a difference.

I did mine before the M40 retros were available, Durocoat'ed the same base Redfield "3-ring".  I wish I had that option at the time. Although there isn't much of anything period correct on the rifle, even the parkerized finish is faked with Norrell's.  It would have been cool to have the Accu-Range reticle in that anodized retro model.  I have a old black Redfield with the Accu-Range ret but never refinished it.
