We can not export any scopes that the U.S. military buys, and knowingly selling one in the U.S. that has plans to be exported is the same as exporting it in the eyes of the law.

Thanks. Any chance you could add an ICON onto the description of Scopes THUS affected - then we'd all know without having to suffer dissapointment.
I live in Spain and there is ALOT of confusion about this "block" over here and in the UK too. I guess its as irksome for you as it is for us.
I see what I want - have the money - but I cant get it and you cant make the sale. DUMB as MILDOT for example is EASILY obtainable in Europe - A similar item to the SS scopes are available too (Nikko-Stirling or Edgar Bros badged) - BUT THEY're more expensive over here by a BIG factor. Sad as the SS is a GREAT airgun scope too as it PX's down to 10metres!. |

I don't have a list because if really does not affect us any longer because we have chosen to stop exporting anything out of the U.S. Here is the official document. The State Department has ruled that ¾ mil dot reticle or riflescopes with a ¾ mil dot reticle are not subject to the licensing jurisdiction of the Department of State, if the item is specifically designed for commercial applications or used without modification/adaptation for military applications. The ¾ mil dot reticle and riflescopes that have a ¾ mil dot reticle are subject to the licensing jurisdiction of the Department of Commerce. In accordance with the Export Administration Regulations, issued by the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), riflescopes (ECCN 0A987) including any applicable parts or accessories are controlled for ˜crime control™ and the ˜firearms convention treaty™. Riflescopes must have an export license prior to exiting the A State Department license is required prior to shipment to any customer in any country, if the ¾ mil dot reticle or riflescopes with ¾ mil dot reticle are specifically designed, developed, configured, adapted or modified for use on United States Munitions List (USML) controlled items. Controlled items are subject to the licensing jurisdiction of the Department of State in accordance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 CFR 120 through 130). |
