Thoughts on zeiss #8 reticle in ffp? Does it need illumination or is it thick enough in the center for lowlight?

I too have a Zeiss #8 FFP reticle. My scope has illumination, but you can get by just fine without it in most low light situations IMO. Even if you can't see the center crosshairs very well, the thick outer posts are plenty bold enough to guide your eye to the center of the reticle.
