Thought that looked a little iffy looking at the age of the post.

I also bought a new BBQ grill the other day because the old one broke and was old. I especially like to cook beef jerky and every time I manage to amaze everyone with it. Nobody knows that the secret actually lies in the meat I buy. The beef jerky is marinated in a special blend of spices and air-dried for a minimum of 24 hours and for this reason I love the company that produces it.saved me every time I needed it and I love the taste of the meat there.

OK, so I first started with, and still use, and ECB (El Cheapo Brinkman).  Its at the GF, she has a gas grill.  But hey, it maybe (somewhat) nasty looking and I have gone through a couple pans so far, but it still works

I upgraded to a Brinkmann Vertical Trailmaster limited. (not mine in pic)

I upgraded to a smoke from Thermoworks

I bought one of these about a month ago or so. Works just like a big green egg, but is triple wall insulated steel. I like the fact that you can take the bottom off, and dump the ashes. And an egg will cost you upwards of $1000 by the time you're all set up with the nest and everything. Picked this guy up for $250.  Same great flavor as my uncle's egg.  Only use natural lump charcoal, and looking at building a retort to make my own charcoal.

Don't ask me. I use a Meco electric for grilling and a Brinkman electric for smoking. Wrapping in Reflectix is necessary to get the Meco hot enough to sear a steak, but it works if not overloaded.

Happy green egg owner here, lump charcoal is the only way I will grill any more. I do smoked to grilled to pizza at 600 degrees, all come out great.

That sure is a grill! I tried a cheap version of IR a few years back and gave it away. Assuming this sucker is about 2 leagues above that! Weber kettle for about 16 years, Weber genesis LP for about 3, and Weber smokey mountain for a month or so.

I've been eyeballing a wood fired oven for a while but can't stand 1,000 or more to cook pizza.
That thing on the left....my old ride, some days I miss her.

Thanks for replying everybody. I grill out often so I have about decided not to mess with charcoal. Probably will get something for LP.

I have some friend with the Green Egg. And I will have one. Cooks much faster than my Weber. But most importantly is that the flavor is outstanding. Some of the best tasting meat I have had bar none.

Rec Tec Mini pellet smoker - cook ribs for 6 hours most Saturdays, gonna smoke a chicken tomorrow, set the temp and forget about it, smoke a salmon fillet in about 30 minutes, will cook steaks, chops and burger at about 500* but I prefer the taste of charcoal

Weber Original Kettle 26" charcoaler with a grill mat for steaks, pork chops and burgers - short cooks

Bout $600 for the pellet smoker and bout $200.00 for the charcoaler IIRC

These sit out on a covered patio so subject to some weather.  Would be leery of leaving something worth a couple of thousand dollars out like that
