Have you guys looked at the Henry site as of late? https://www.henryusa.com/henry-rifles-and-shotguns/
They are offering an amazing amount of calibers, styles, actions, finishes etc. With Marlin going down the tube, they have really stepped up. Their rifles are so stinking nice too, my dad has 5 of them and they are almost to nice to shoot. Almost. My mother in law bought her hubby a firefighter tribute edition. It is awesome. He sat and admired it for hours on his birthday. He went and bought a display case and hung it in their family room. I have several of them on my wish list. All weather 45 colt, Long ranger in .308, all weather in 45-70, a youth .22. I have a feeling they are going to get a good chunk of my money in the next few years. |

My dad has that one. It is awesome. We shot some 1.5ish groups at 50 yards with it with factory fodder. The actions are so smooth. Reminds me of tikka smooth.

I have one in 45-70. Fantastic rifle. One of my favorites. I'm not crazy about the tube feed, but have spent some time practicing with it and have no problems. I suspect most who have loading problems just don't actually use the rifle very much. It is accurate, fun to shoot and mine wears a Skinner Black Gold Express sight.
I've tried others, but use Hornady LEVERevolution almost exclusively now. Performs superbly. Hooked on Henry...

Henrys and Spencer lever action repeaters, along with several other firearms, were used by the Lakota and Cheyenne at Little Big Horn. Custer had 45-55 single shot Springfield carbines. We all know the result. Lever guns were kind of the assault rifle of their day.

I have a marlin 357 and 45-70. Both are pre 2007 and are both excellent. But i kinda want to replace them with henry's. They are just so nice.
They really were game changers. Soldiers could go from maybe 3 shots a minute with their muskets to 10 as quick as they could lever them in. |

I bought this 22 mag about 5 months ago for 400$, the guy said he shot 4rds through it and he gave me 194rds with it as well. They are silky smooth and shoots excellent, could not ask for a nicer rifle and Henry takes care of you and the rifle as if they still owned it.

I am thinking of picking up a steel receiver 357mag carbine to match my revolvers.
I was very impressed with the feel of these guns at SHOT. New Marlins are horrid in comparison. ILya |

I have heard that they got new machines about a year ago and their quality has gone up quite fast. This is what I have read on the Winchester and Marlin forums.

I never really been a big Henry fan. I had a brass framed 45 Colt with poor metal to wood fit issues, plus a local shop told me they had more issues with the Henry 22's being sent back to the factory than any other firearm several years ago. A fellow did recently trade me a brass framed 22LR that was a very pretty little rifle, but I sold it before even giving it a try. Perhaps their quality has improved.

I ONLY buy older JM pistol caliber. They have comprimised the bolt in their misplaced efforts to make them function better in the newer RA versions? Check out Ranger Point Precision for some ideas in an 1894 you never thought possible? 10mm anyone?

10mm seems like a fad being you have the 357 & 44 magnums that rivals over the 10.

I like the long ranger 308 they make.
I bought a 1971 Marlin 336 the other day in 30-30. Screw the new ones with cross bolt safeties too. I love how it looks and handles. Don't care if its not perfect. Put a Leupold VX1 2x7x33 on it, and am good to go. Use the Leverevolution 160 grain in it, although it shot the cheapie winchester 150 grain stuff well at the indoor range when I was sighting it in. I just like the way they look. Great gun, can't wait to kill a deer with it.

Dangit, you have to bring this to the top. Now I will be scouring gun broker for hours debating whether or not I should buy an all weather in .45 colt.

So Henry has started to make rifles with both a side load and a tube load. That is so awesome. |

I saw that. I have a Henry 22LR and really like it. Once they have a side-loading 357Mag, I'll pick one up. ILya
