I'd like to get a 2-7 or a 3-9 power scope with a standard duplex (I have wet macula edema) with a simple turret dial in MOA. Seems like all of these type scopes have a bullet trajectory dedicated turret and/or a BDC reticle - I'd just like one that's simple.
Leupold offers a 3-9x40 AR Mod 1 with a turret cap for .223 and I would think Leupold could provide a MOA cap for that scope. So far that LEU115389 is my leader.

Sightron makes a 1-7x24 in their S-Tac series that probably fits the bill as well. Illuminated MOA reticle and MOA turrets. They also do a 2-10x32 in their S-tac series that has a standard duplex reticle and capped pop-up turrets based in MOA.

My bad - I intended to say an uncapped target type turret in 1/4 MOA, these are all capped. Marverick2 - that's a bit more than I want to spend on a scope for a backup muzzleloader. I did stumble onto a Leupold VX-2 that should fit the bill. Thanks. |

Leupold custom shop will build things that are non typical. Example: VX-3i 2.5-8x36mm duplex $399.99 if you add target knobs with covers in MOA that adds $100 to the cost. So total is $499.99 but the VX3i is pretty nice glass. you select which optic then modify it.Edited by Urimaginaryfrnd - March/21/2017 at 21:44 |

For an inline muzzleloader I recommend this scope. |

You can add Kenton speed turrets, better mod than Leupold.

I won the bid on eBay for a discontinued Leupold VX-2 3-9x40 scope - new and sealed in the box for $227.50 plus $10 shipping. This has the regular duplex and an elevation target turret in 1/4 MOA per click. There should be a certificate inside to get a free turret CDS cap from Leupold if I want. I'm happy.
I also have wet macula edema in my right eye so the BDC type reticles are very blurry for me plus they're only valid on the maximum magnification anyway. Once I get the trajectory verified I can use the turret for longer shots if I want. Edited by tpcollins - March/23/2017 at 07:43 |
