Is the new Leica Visus an upgrade over the old ERi?

The Magnus is.
But the ERi is still pretty nice! Love ❤️ mine! |

Maybe I should have stated an improvement or just a rebranding.

Mostly cosmetic changes: different finish, etc.
ERi was pretty much my favorite hunting scope on the market. Until I tried the Magnus. ILya |

I have the ERi on my .270 rifle that I use for deer hunting. I really love the scope and the German #4 reticle. Ilya is the Magnus that much better? No store around me has one in stock to inspect. Which ones have you reviewed or owned?

Magnus is legitimately better, but in this price range the image quality differences are not huge.
I am looking at the 1.8-12x50 Magnus with ballistic turret. I am really looking the FOV and how easy it is to get behind. ER/ERi is no slouch, but Magnus is better. With ER, my favorite was probably the 3.5-14x42, and if it had a mrad turret, I would still own it. ILya |

My go to hunting rifle wears a Leica ER with 4a reticle. Been using #4 and 4a hunting reticles for 10+ years now, love 'em. I can't see myself ever going back to using a plex.
