Okay guys, just got done building a 10/22 with some Kidd Innovations goodies and I'm looking into a scope for this rifle for hunting, plinking and target. Here's what I want, illuminated reticle, variable from anything to 12, 14 power, adjustable objective, would like to stay under $250-$300 maybe a dollar or two more, but REALLY like to stay under the $250 amount. Been looking into the Weaver Kaspa series 3-12x44 IR EMDR. Has anyone had experience with these? Also been looking into Athlon Optics Talos BTR 4-14x44 - APLR2 FFP IR MIL, has anyone had experience with these? Will SWFA ever sell Athlon? Would really like to trade a guns scope for an Ares BTR and get another for a future build! |

This is only 9x but would be a very good choice.

Ok looked at all the ones you all suggested, not to bad of options. I have found a weaver kaspa tactical series for a real good price of $164. What do you guys know/think of those? I'm kinda glued to the weaver for the price point, all the options that I wanted, the only thing that I don't much care for is the 30mm scope tube on a .22 but that's only a set of rings away! The primary arms scope is very close to what I want but the reticle turns me off on it. |

I can't easily think of anything good to say about Kaspa scopes. I wish I could be more helpful, but they are kinda junky designs. ILya |

hmm ok, what was the problem you had with them Ilya? I looked on your web blog and couldn't find much on weavers at all. Thanks Ilya On a separate note what is your impressions on the Athlon Ares BTR? Will SWFA ever sell these? When I'm after a scope my first place to check things out is SWFA. |

Ok I ended up finding the exact weaver at a local gun store, I like it a lot so far! Yes its not a perfect scope but for a .22lr, I didn't want to spend too much more on this scope than what the yardage the .22lr is capable of to be accurate and accurately/humanly kill something which in my book would be NO more than a 100yrds!

Sorry I missed this earlier. I do not know if SWFA will ever sell them. You have to ask them. I do not work for SWFA. I like Ares BTR and for the money it is very good scope with a very full feature set. As far as Kaspa goes, I gave it a quick look and did not like what I see, so I did not spend the time on a full test. There were both optical and mechanical issue in everything I saw from that OEM.
