Curios as to what are senior members would top there 22 Long rifle with? No budget constraints but within reason. It’s a 300 dollar rifle. Rem 597 Heavy barrel. My application would not exceed 25 yards. I also shoot subsonic hollows. It’s for the farm. Don’t want a dot. Would like a little mag. Thank you all

I guess I should have said I’m not willing to pay double the cost of rifle but with mount willing to spend 500. I only get a couple shots a year to buy stuff and I want good stuff. Sad thing is I have a strike eagle and vortex mount but the horseshoe would cover my entire target. I need to hit small windows. I was going to use that as a trade in. I already have a SWFA 3x15x42 FFP scope. Awesome optic. Thank you all

I had a BSA Sweet 22 that recently "died". I have Nikon 2-7 Shotgun scope on the way to replace it. I'm certain the glass will be better, I hope it is oherwise as good as the Sweet 22 was.
The Sweet 22 now becomes a target...

I’m not sure where I heard or saw it. It’s not my quote but I loved it when I saw it and never forgot it. |

I set up a few 10/22s for friends and family with these scopes and they are all pretty happy. On my 10/22 I use a prehistoric Burris Fullfield II 1.75-5x20. It is tiny and despite not being a rimfire scope works really well at close distances. If you are looking for something that is really quite small, Weaver V3 1-3x20 might be worth a look. ILya

For 25 yards, Weaver and Nikon rimfire scopes are in your price range.

Greenhorn#1, These are the scopes that have adorn my small bore silhouette rifles. These scopes can be used on any .22lr, but are mostly seen down the line at our matches. 1) Leupold FX-3 25X and 30X with 1/2" dot reticle 2) Weaver T-36 with dot reticle 3) Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 Target EFR While the Nikon scope would be considered an entry level in our sport, it is a versatile scope that would serve you well in different shooting disciplines.

I put several 4X scopes on 22s. At 4X you don't even need to worry about parallax. Eventually I moved up to 6X but I will shoot 100 yards with 22s.
I used iron sights until I was in my fifties, and I have shot iron sights 'way out there' to clobber a jack rabbit by using " Kentucky Elevation.." |
