I have a ruger #1 in 22lr. I put ruger mounts on it, but i have to scrunch forward to look thru the scope. I do not want to shorten the stock. I tried offset rings but the turret hits the ring and will not let me slide the scope back any farther then a normal ring.
I need a 1 inch scope, side focus to shorter yardage, 6-16x ( or similar power) with a longer distance from turret to eyepiece. The scope i tried is the bushnell rimfire. Any longer scopes out there? |

Leupold's eye relief is usually about a half a mile...( I need to be in another zip code to look through one!!!!...)...or you could try one of the older Burris scopes which had the adjustment turrets way up in front so that you had to mount the thing with half the scope sticking over your stock!!

Another possible option (although kind of ugly) would be to put a pic rail on the #1. Then you will have more mounting options.

What will you be doing with the rifle that requires a 6-16 power range and such a close focus.
There are LOTS of 1" tube scopes available that should work Great on a .22. |

Shooting stuff from 15 yards to 150 yards. I do it with other 22lr rifles.

No side focus. I can’t tell from photo how low it goes in yardage on the AO |

Not on a Ruger #1, but a Rem 700 Varmint special .223 one of these https://www.leupold.com/scopes/compact-scopes/vx-3i-6-5-20x50mm-side-focus-cds-target?selectedSku=170714 The side focus is apparently not for focusing on a target, but lookin on line at the instruction manual it reads. "NOTE: The side focus adjustment dial should not be used to focus the target image. If the reticle is first focused and the parallax properly set, the image should be clear. " I have no idea how close it will really focus, but when I first zeroed it I did so at a rather close range and if focused close, probably 15-20 yards, just to get on target and close to center. I do have a Ruger #1 Standard in 22 Hornet with a much older, no side focus 6.5-20 target scope and there is ample room for a lot of front to rear movement to customize eye relief. I am in the process of upgrading the optics on some of my nicer 22 rifles, and am going with the Leupold VX2 3-9 EFR rimfire scopes, which have parallex adjustment on the ocular ring that goes down to 10 yards, and just playing with one in the living room I would say it does pretty good down to 5 yards. |
