Introducing the world’s lightest 2.5-10x variable optic, the SWFA SS Ultralight is changing the game in lightweight scopes. Weighing in at only 9.5 ounces, the SS Ultralight boasts the same unmatched durability and dependability you have come to expect from the SS line of products. The sleek, 1” main tube and 32mm objective give it a streamlined profile that is perfect for your next lightweight build. Low-profile, ¼ MOA, capped turrets offer 15 MOA of adjustment per revolution and a total adjustment range of 70 MOA for both elevation and windage. Backed by the unbeatable SS 4-LIFE Transferable Warranty, the SWFA SS 2.5-10x32 Ultralight Riflescope is breaking the mold and proving less is more.
It also happens to be on sale at its introductory pricing through July 8th. https://swfa.com/swfa-ss-2-5-10x32-ultralight-rifle-scope.html |

Dose anyone know of a variable that is lighter than this one? This thing would be nice for a fast shouldering rifle for tings on the run!! |

Weaver V3 is the only one I can think of. I think I have seen lighter fixed power scopes. ILya |

The moa/mil milling reticles are just awesome. Does SWFA think they’re too busy for your target market?

I am not sure what SWFA thinks on the subject but personally, I would not mind seeing something like the Mil-Quad DM in the 2.5-10x32. I suspect a lot depends on how successful the product is.
For now, the plex reticle version is in production and it seems to be holding up well. I have been beating up one of the first ones off the line and I like what I see so far. No durability issues either. The BDC reticle is the next one to hit the market. The scope I have is the prototype and I am sure production ones will follow soon. I think the BDC version will do better than the plex, since it is more visible in low light and the holdover tree is well designed to be there when you need it and reasonably unobtrusive when you do not. What is next, is hard to say, since I do not work fro SWFA. I would really like to see a rimfire version of this scope, either with adjustable parallax or, to keep cost down, fixed parallax set to 50 or 75 yards. As is, it is an excellent scope for larger rimfires, like 22WMR or 17HMR, but for various 22LR applications, closer focus would be helpful. ILya

Ideally, 50y. Less is better, but would likely drive unfavorable design tradeoffs. (i.e. weight). I realized after I posted that the basic plex reticle reveals that I am not the person this scope is marketed to. Rather, this seems like an excellent hunting scope-- a lightweight replacement for the traditional 3-9 with less weight and more capability. I have a hangup on parallax though. I often want to see how a given round will group or how it compares with something else in POI, and having parallax error to manage can make it a problem. I know, it's largely my fault as a shooter because of lack of repeatable cheek weld and all that. True. But I can't really run my bolt effectively seated and keep the cheek weld. I used to never really think of parallax as a problem until it turned by CZ from a 1/2" gun at 50y to a 4" gun at 100 with a Nikon. Indoors, no wind. It's hard to compare grades of .22 ammo with this variable. Anyway, the parallax of the other SWFA models is a big selling point for me. My CZ now wears a SS classic 12x in mil-quad.

Very nice hunting scope. Great price as well. My 30-30 would look great wearing one of these.

If it had a milling reticle adaptable to 30-06 and even good quality target type turrets This would no questions be perfect for a slightly unique application I have.
Grandpas old 30-06 bolt gun built a long time ago with a nice barrel and trigger on a Mauser 98 action with a weaver side mount. The old Bushmell on there is really tired and needs to be upgraded. I don't want to change the gun and get a picatinny rail installed and the weaver Sidemount annoyingly only offers 1 inch rings and won't clear much more than a 32 mm objective. I'm not ready to resign myself to just having a duplex reticle and no turrets yet though because Grandpa put a nice barrel and trigger on the gun and I'd like to try dabbling in long-range stuff with it. Just to see what his old build is capable of. |

I'll be all over a BDC/Quad version of this. Been looking to put a lighter yet versatile optic on my new pack rifle. Currently have the SS 5-20 (38 oz with rings) on it taking my 6.6 lb rifle up to 9 lbs. I'd rather carry 2-3 oz more to get an illuminated center dot to make up for the smaller objective in low light situations (dawn/dusk).
BTW.. is the optic still waterproof with the caps off and turrets exposed?
