Find me one as beautiful as mine and can cook I'll think about it.. They don't make them like her no more, traditional, kind, respectful, loves life etc etc ~ I got lucky, I'm not exactly sure how a bum like me scored a chick of this caliber ( no pun intended ) lol

Thank you very much for your time and research, that book you have there is not cheap lol.. Redfield Magnum 8-16x circa 1971-1974. I would of been happy if I was given $400 for the rifle and scope, one time I actually make out well on a trade * golf-clap *
Thanks again Ed

Well back in the Old Days most scopes didn't have different 'model lines'....they just made one scope and had different powers. Since that is a pretty high powered scope I am assuming that is real late 1960s...
....Well, I just checked my copy of OLD RIFLE SCOPES by Nick Stroebel..... The 6-18 scope was made 1971-1974. That scope would have been the fourth generation Redfield scope. First they had the Bear Cub from 1959-1962-63... Then the had the "1 Inch" scope....by 1966, they called their new scopes the Redfield Master scope. Then by 1969 the had the Magnum scope. Yours is a Magnum scope. After that they came out with Widefield and then they had TWO lines of scopes....wide ones and round ones.... |

The only reason I never looked through a Nightforce scope or something of similar quality is because I never did any precision shooting or even know how to work a scope.. And if I spent $3,000+ on a scope my girlfriend would use me as the target

Thank you for the reply Ed, funny you say that as the guy I traded with said that it was the original scope the rifle came with which matches your circa. The issue I had with his statement was I looked up if any Winchester Model 70's came with Redfield scopes from the factory during the 60's and found no data correlating with what he said.
$150? What a surprise, who would want a old scope lol I was almost positive it was fake. The glass is very clear and the optics look heavy duty, but I have never looked through any quality optics before so I had my doubts. Well that was fun, are you familiar with what Redfield model this is or not so much, regardless thanks again for the reply

I have a Redfield 8-16x scope with no markings, that being said I can not look up the model to see what price to sell it for. I traded a firearm for a 1966 Winchester Model 70 .300 Win Mag with this scope and mount. I just posted my Winchester on gunbroker and was going to include the scope for free with the sale until I go look up the price on these things are $100+ lol..
I either got a really good deal on this trade or this scope is a $20 knockoff, all it says is " Redfield 6-18x ", nothing else. I can't even find a serial number on it, looks fake to me to be honest. Not sure why any manufacture would not at least put a couple markings to keep track of their product base Here are pictures and thank you for looking |
