Well I found what I thought was a good deal, Burris Veracity 3X15X50 with a free Burris FF2 4.5X14X44. Hopefully it will be a good deal.

My sorta standard recommendation for hunting scopes under $1k is Vortex Razor HD LH. The ones with G4-BDC reticle are on sale right now since the reticle is being discontinued. Their 3-15x42 is a very nice scope that should work well for you.
I think SWFA is out of the 3-15x42 with the G4 reticle, but you can still pick it up on Amazon: If you prefer illuminated reticle, Leupold VX-5HD and VX-6HD are nice scopes. Also consider Sig Whiskey 5. ILya |

https://www.swfa.com/redfield-2-7x33-revolution-rifle-scope-3.html Redfield 2-7x33 Low End price wise but I really like this scope if the center x is Zeroed at 200 yds and max power is 7x so that is where the balistic reticle should be true (not at lower powers because its second focal plane) ................................... https://www.swfa.com/leupold-2-12x42-vx-6hd-30mm-riflescope-5.html High End
Leupold 2-12x42 VX-6HD 30mm RiflescopeMatte, Illuminated TMOA, CDS-ZL2 .................................. https://www.swfa.com/swfa-ss-hd-3-9x42-tactical-30mm-riflescope.html I really like this scope but its not in stock you might call and ask when they will have them. A mil based reticle can be used for both finding distance to a known size target and for hold over or dialing in correction. $599.95 SWFA SS HD 3-9x42 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

Long time since I have posted, but getting a new rifle and want a new scope. Hornady 6.5 PRC, will be used for hunting and range work to prepare for hunting. Shots could be up to 400 yards. Seems everything now days is 44mm and up to 60mm objective size. Thinking 3X15 or something in the area. Shots could be close as well. BDC etc I am not sure about. I could see it as useful but do not want something complicated. Only scope free right now is an older Zeiss Conquest 3X9X40 with a Z plex. It should work, but I know there are better options. I would like to stay under $1500
