I never knew my Zero Tolerance was considered a semi auto. I do know I can deploy it very quickly though.

Are semi autos considered to be an automatic as far as the law is concerned?

Wow.....  I wouldn't last 5 seconds in a real ambush.  I rarely carry and that prolly won't change unless I have time to plan for training..... which prolly isn't gonna happen, but it might.  I realize I am not really prepared for "sh*t to hit the fan" today, tomorrow or next week.  next month is a longshot.

Eye opening info here.... will take a bit of time to sort it.  I have actually thought of immobilizing someone's primary arm, but hadn't thought what I would do if someone immobilized mine!  So thanks for that RC....
take em!

Very nicely put, Jeff.

Do you mind if I copy it over to my website?  I would like to preserve the right up in an easily accessible place.

Isolating and immobilizing the strong is a really common concept in kali and combined with appropriate zoning, it is very effective.

I can shoot and use knives with somewhat similar dexterity with both hands and use both regularly.

Once one of your arms is immobilized, you get a real appreciation for footwork.  I recall our teacher used to beat us with a staff with both of our arms immobilized.  It did wonders for our footwork.

There are ommissions and parts that need more detail, but it is a start.

Legally speaking, the difference between semi-auto and automatic is huge.

Laws differ greatly, so know your local laws, but semi-auto is seldom a problem, unless damn near everything is illegal.
