My first car was a 1972 Gran Torino. My Dad bought it for me so I could drive my brother and sister to school and stop riding the bus. What a great car. Would love to still have it............

Well folks,
Here is the only "old car" I have ever owned. A 2000 Mini cooper. One of the last they ever made. Scrummy |

When I was about a knee and a brick high, my dad owned one of these. I remember we use to overtake fighter jets in this car. A "normal" journey of 3 hours would take my dad about 1 and3/4 hr. The speedo was marked to 130mph. My dad drove it so the needle was stuck past the 130mph marker. So we had no idea how fast we were going!!!!

When I was a kid living on the farm I had the use of a 1954 Dodge Coronet that my Dad bought for $69. " Sixty-nine dollars...." It had a V8 Hemi in it.....I think it was a 360.....it ran like hell! The car was tight and perfect. The seats had a rip in the front so we put seat covers on it. We had the car for years. My parents had other cars and eventually they sold it when it was beginning to get in the way. |
