There was mention by Koshkin of such a device, but the thread was in the wrong place (not tactical scopes) and was removed due to some stupidity.
But I think the topic is important enough to renew here. Can someone re-link to the specific company providing the thing?

Is it the TACOMHQ stuff you are thinking about? If I'm thinking of the right thread, one of their products was the Charlie Tarac. (I don't want to get crossways with the forum's "linking" guidelines, so will let you track it down.)

Yes, I think that is the one. It definitely needs some consideration - and some testing for real-world use.

Pretty cool concept -- I read up on that after also seeing it on the other thread. Elevation adjustment options from small to tall. My shooting doesn't warrant all the adjustment offered by the Charlie Tarac, but the option to quickly and simply add 25 MOA of elevation for $500 (Bravo Tarac) to a scope whose only limitation is elevation adjustment is pretty cool. Diving into that further is on my list of "things to do".

My interest is aimpoint with a CQB zero that needs a quick and consistent secondary aiming point at distance. The Vortex UH1 does that kinda in reverse (the primary aiming point is the 300 yard zero while a lower point on the reticle is the CBQ; but I still love aimpoints and their durability and battery life. I like the Vortex, but have already killed 2 batteries with it.
The 7.5 MOA is about perfect for my purposes. |
