had a question found a Docter optic 80/500 scope, anytime I try to google it it comes up as a pair. Could this be half of a pair possibly and if so what is a good price to pay? Thanks in advance.

an 80x500mm scope has a 19.5 + inch objective. A bit heavy for anyone who doesn't own a forklift.

I believe they are observational binoculars. Meant more for tripod mounted viewing. 80mm objective lenses and 515mm’s long the whole outfit weighs 10 pounds. As I remember Docter was sold in Bankruptcy.

It seems the "80/500" designation refers to the objective and the focal length.

Do you work for Lewis-McCord?

No, I live about 5 min away though. That makes sense. The ones I picked up has the Vario on it. I paid $800 so hopefully that is a good price?

Thanks for the replies

had a question,  got the 80/500 today and when I look thru it, it looks like dried rain drops on the inside if that makes sense?

I cleaned both lenses with a clean brush.

Return it, it has internal issues, spots means moisture entered, maybe fungus, and glass
etching, only guesses.  You got suckered.  Don't bother going any further.
I hope this helps.
