Cheers, now to start crunching data for target and hunting loads.

So suggestions for a hunting load:

160gr Accubond?

Target load:

160gr TMK?

Think what you would recommend for a 280 rem as a start

hunting   160 GK
target     160 MK
That is for 7 mm RM, though

cheers Taqua. With a 26” barrel and a higher pressure rating than 280 rem shouldn’t be too far behind the venerable 7mm RM

Wow! Nice setup Scrummy.
Got a scope in mind?
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

Sounds like a top drawer setup all the way around Scrummy.

Well,

Broke the barrel in and got the rifle zeroed at 100yds today.

160gr TMK over 54. something grains of N165 at book length. (84mm)

I think there's a flyer in there and the rifle will do more...
