To create an open mind, you must first have one!!!!  There was a day long ago when the thinking was  "if you spend money then you buy the best"...   "then there was this ", "old will always be better"...   If you are going to advance , you must be open to advancement!!!!!

Geee, I hope the girls dont get into this, we will be at "war" once a month!!!!!

Cant be more pleased with the 4200s, the bushnell lord "roy" and others accorrding to my digging , now me included, testify to there quality.  Wont look at LEOS with whats beeing built today, reguardless of there famous warranty..  Im going to sit back and enjoy a few toddies while I wait on the new BUSHNELL. Called and talked to them today, they wont tell me any thing for a couple of weeks, BLAST

BUSHNELL has "the warranty of all time", no questions for the first year!!  Not that they need it..   30

That will be a very good scope, great choice. This is the rifle I used for this thread but it now has TPS light mounts and a variable. I used 6x for the shots that I took on page 8.

I know we're always talking glass here at OT, but you have me thinking about wood SVD. I can't find the post, but it seems to me you had a .375 with some nice wood, too. Where are you getting this stuff, very nice.

Thank you Tahqua,I like the look and feel of wood but more imoprtant is the foundation. Both this wood stock and my .375 have a aluminum bedding block instaled through the reciever with the barel floated and hex and solid steel bottom metal. The wood on the .375 is not that nice like this wood but I chose it not because of looks for that caliber but I because it was the strongest piece of wood I can find. This stock here is Claro Walnut from Sacramento California and is suitable for the 7MM and its foundation..

That rifle was a profound statement for the WSM's accuracy. It disgusts me

I think this is the rifle you are talking about,it is a richards custom bench rifle with a Nightforce. This is not my style of shooting.

Bartlein Barrel on an UnderTaker stock by Richard's Custom Rifles

The barrel is a 30 Cal.; 15 twist 1.250" x 30"  chambered in .300wsm custom and

is shooting 2 3/4" groups at 710 yds. with Hornady Vmax 110 gr bullets at 4200fps.

Can you do this well with a  50 year old 300 H &H ??

Seems like the recess would focus muzzle gas, yes??  Then maybe it could upset "stable flight" ??

Good question. Maybe there is not enough gas bypassing the bullet before it leaves, interesting.
