on a new gun.

I live in Indiana, which has previously been a shotgun slug state.  It looks as though beginning this Fall we will be allowed to hunt with rifles loaded with pistol bullets.  Today I purchased a Model 1894 Marlin in .44 mag, a neat looking lever gun.  I don't think my 57 year old eyes will allow me to be effective without a scope and expect shooting ranges up to 100 yards..

Recently, I won an 84 Kimber in .338 Federal and  the members recommended a 2 x 7 Kahles  which I purchase and really like.

Your suggestions will be appreciated.

love that gun.  that's a freight train bullet.

the kahles would be a fine addition.  or a 1.5-6x42 if you can swing it.

i just put a 4x40 fixed power - nikon monarch on my 30/30 marlin and it is a fine addition.

no frills, solid performance.

very bright/clear and perfect for under 100 yard shooting.

let us know what you decide.  good  luck.

J
