I have decided to get a CZ 452 Americian in 17 HM2.  Primary use will be squirrels and other small vermen ranging from 20 to 100 yrds.  I am looking for something not over 40 mm objective and in the $250 price range.

I am thinking about a Burris 3-9x40 Fullfield II Rifle Scope with Ballistic Plex

Bought one for my sons 17HMR, not wild about the thick crosshairs  but do like the ballistic plex feature.

All suggestions are welcomed.

I too got the CZ 452 for 17HM2, but in Varmit, .  I put a Bushnell Legend 5-15x40AO on it with BKL rings.  While some might think the 15x is overkill, I love it for picking off varmits.  (I use the same scope/rings combo on my Weihrauch HW77 air rifle.  Laugh if you will but I'm 18 for 18 shots this spring.)   It's got Mil-Dot sights and Adjustable Objective.   AO is VERY IMPORTANT for under 100yds.

Thanks for the reply asauve, I am verrrry tempted to go with a higher powered optics but I think I will be better served with something I can use at closer ranges.  Ajustable Objectives are often neccessary but I hate them in hunting situations.

Based on the lack of anyother responses, I think I will post this on the Rifle forum.

Thanks
