Fair looking "meat bucks", I guess.

I'd probably pass on them though.

If that's the rio grande, I obviously need to get a border patrol job.  I know I could take care of those bad boys if they crossed!  Free health care if you will...

That last one with the twigs caught in his antlers is an absolute screamer. Not that I put a lot of importance on record-book measurements, but I'd guess he probably wouldn't score as well as the first one, though.  What do you guys think?

The last buck is an exceptional mulie by any standard!  He would definitely score more than any of the others, even after deductions -- greater main beam length, longer tines, wider spread, more points.  Nice pics, Chris!  When are you going?

We try to go between Christmas and New Years but the last two years we were ahead of the rut by about a week, but three years ago we were after the rut.   I think this will be "the" year due to the mild weather and good rain.  I plan to go mid to late December and if need be go back, mid January.

Good luck on your hunt, Chris!  Sounds like fun!

Is it a huge hassle bringing your rifle into Mexico?

It can be if you don't know all the ins and outs.  For instance, I can't take my 6.5 STW because all of my ammo is head stamped 7 STW.  A representative from the military has to check your rifle, so the larger the boarder crossing the better because one will usually be there.  I hunted Coues deer one year in an area just south of Arizona and we flew into Hermosillo and drove back north 6 hours just because clearing rifles in a major airport is much easier.  I've heard of people being stuck at the border waiting for the military for longer than 24 hours.
