Here is this one, shot a week before we got there by a family member that owns the ranch.
They measured him at 36 inches inside the main beam. Edited by Chris Farris - March/07/2008 at 15:55 |

Here is the message Hector sent with the images, his english is getting better, I think he may have learned a new word while I was there.

Nice job on the hunt, and cool pics, Chris!
You're one lucky "mofo" to be able to make that trip every year!

Check out these two saguaros. Wikipedia says it takes the 75 years to grow an arm. These two are single cactus with only one trunk coming out of the ground. These guys are all time Boone and Crocket non-typicals for sure.

I got an e-mail from the ranch today, see below:
------------------------------
Subject: Fotos Puma.....
Finally my friend... pumas have been capture and killed in the ranch... this pictures are from yesterday, this is the second cat that we have trap... please show this pictures to everybody... and also say hi to everybody...
thanks and we´ll keep on touch... Subject: Mas fotos.....
This is the first cat that we trap... this pictures was like 10 days ago.... hopefully we will keep trap in them so we can manage the mule deer without finding them dead because of the cats.... enjoy... also you can see in one picture how a cat cut the head off a goat... seek... jajaja....

It is a pity that such a beautifull animal has to be trapped and killed. Unfortunately it has to be done in order to manage wildlife and resources. In South Africa culling lynxes, jackal and other animals of prey has to be done in the smaller wildlife eco-systems.
I only hope that we as hunters allways do this in a responsible and humane manner, so that the bunny huggers do not end up using this management tool in publicity campaigns against us.
Anyway Chris, I am glad you have managed to sort out the Puma problem.

Are you kidding? I'd take that anyday of the week. What did that one score? Speaking of, can I invite myself?
Now I'm kidding, but I do hope to get out your way or maybe Idaho some day to take a Elk first and if possible a mullie too. They will have to be trophies though, not going all out for culls.

That is a top secret location.
You can put your name on it if you can get there from this map.
Do not cross the border at Nogales, you might not make it very far. Very dangerous.
