which is better for light
 
a 10x40 straight power or a 8-32x40 varix????

depnds on who makes each of those scopes as far as quality (opitcally) goes

What kind of scope do you have in mind? Quality of glass has alot to do with this...

For brightness the 8-32 gives you a 5mm exit pupil versus 4mm for the 10x, all other things being equal..............
Accuracy starts below and behind the scopeWink. Though the variable cranked up does help on small targets at long range.

i usually use a battery powered device with a bulb for light, scopes dont work worth a damn for a light

in this case i would take the bushnell 3200 way better scope in all aspects than the bsa

thats what I'm leaning towards..I have read where the bushnell 3200 is recomended for bar 50 cal....so it should hold up to a 22-250...right?

and coyotes and maybe even a bit of feral hog shooting...(right behind the ear drops em in their tracks)...think the 10x will be ok for around 75 yrds??
