Just had a call asking where you take your measurement for height on a front dovetail sight when ordering a replacement.

  New problem for me to.

He broke the sight tip off.  He got the part out of the dovetail in the bbl.  Now he needs to know what height sight he needs to replace the broken one with.  He got both pieces but where does he measure?  Different heights are listed.

Overall top to bottom?  Bottom of sight blade to highest point?

Well my GUESS would be from top of barrel to top of blade if a blade style if a button I'd guess top of barrel to center of button or dot.  That picture is obviously not the same as the one he brokeunless he really worked at breaking i!.  I'd be worried th ebarrel got bent too!. Usually dovetailed fronts have te hdovetail perpendicular to the barrel.

I am guessing.   BD, BF, Ted or many others should know for sure!   Could always call Brownells.
