Hi all. I need some recommendations on a scope. I just ordered a Savage model 12 in .204 Ruger. Me and my kids will be using this for target(fun) shooting. Since we'll just be shooting for enjoyment I don't want to spend to much on a scope, around $250. We'll be shooting at 100-300 yds. Should I be looking at fixed or variable power scopes and what magnification? I haven't bought a scope in over 10 years so I'm way behind the curve when it comes to knowledge on them. Any advice is appreciated.

I'd get them a variable ... no time is better for them to learn .... plus they can leave her set at one magnification to learn and then have the option of more . Kids learn fast .... and a variable is much more useful down the line . Wink
