Hey everyone, I just bought me a Conquest 3X9X40 and need to know some suggestions for rings for it.  Now, stupid question I know, but what size rings am I going with, 30mm?  I can't find that info.  Also, i'll be mounting it on an AR-15 flat top so I assume I need detachable rings? Are they all detachable?  I know these sound dumb but i'd really appreciate any help guys, thanks a lot.

That zeis is a 1" not 30mm.  When you say detachable? I mean yes and no.  Yes most rings can be detached from the bases but not keeping zero etc..  Your basicaly tering them down and will have to have it sighted in again.

If you want to be able to just whoop the scope off and slap it on and have it ready to shoot you need Quick Release rings.  Several people make them that swfa sells but the only ones I have used were the Leupold QR's.

Ahhh ok, thanks!   I think I'll go with the Leupold rings you mentioned.  Thanks a lot.

Before you jump into a set of QRW rings, You should give a look at the Warne rings that were designed just for that AR15. Warne 204LM rings for 1" tubes or 217LM for 30mm tubes. I have 3 AR15 rifles with these rings and love them. They WILL re-zero every time and no need for a funky riser block.
