Am looking for an adapter for my swaro spotting scope. For the amount of use it is going to get I can not justify spending the money on one from swaro. Does anyone have any suggestions on different manufacturers? Thanks

Numerous companies make adapters that clamp onto the eyepiece and have an adjustable shelf for using a small point-and-shoot camera including Kowa, Nikon, Pentax, Vortex, and even Zeiss. They range in price from ~$50 to over $400.
Only the Swarovski unit will be useful for mounting a DLSR to a Swarovski spotting scope.

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

Minox will or has already launched an adapter that is a camera. It is mounted instead of the eyepiece. Not cheap, but probably better than an adapter. There are plans to have models for Minox, Leica, Kowa, and Swarovski scopes.
