Very interesting and good info to me. I too have a 20X SS on a 1000 yard rifle but am not completely satisfied with the clarity. Also very true, the parallax adjustment is very touchy but it does come in if you are careful. I've been wanting to upgrade but no more than I use this setup it's a tough thing to justify.
Not trying to steal the thread but just out of curiosity, how high of power do you usually run on the NF? Wondering if the 20X is really enough or if more power is better, up to a point of course.

Ok, now I am talking about F class shooting in particular F tr
shooting. My Nightforce is 5.5x22 power. I do not ever
remember using it less than 22X. For F class shooting I would say
20 to 36 power range is what you want .
I agree I wish my SS was as clear as the N.F. but there is a huge difference in price. Bob |

Yeah, the NF is an awesome optic package but the cost rules me out for the time being. Wish the SS came in a higher power variable. That might be the best all around answer for a lot of us and our "needs"!

All in due time. For history past the 3-9 took a long time and I imagine the next member of the SS line will take a little time too. A lot, lot of folks want a higher variable SS scope so I don't forsee Chris passing that up. Its only a matter of time before we see one, I gots time, I hope
