Apologies if there was a misunderstanding.  I was just trying to make you feel like a heel... did my tale of woe bring tears????????????
I SHOULD have mentioned my 7 step-children, as well.

Nope, not tears.  It did make me go get a detailed map of Alabama and carefully draw out the area to avoid, as defined by the trajectory range of your 458Lott (just in case you run out of trees and Blazer scopes).

I think I will just give your wife a call some time and tell her that you have a $5K Hensoldt spotter on order.  We'll see how that goes.

She would NOT take kindly to that.  As was stated in Star Wars by C3P0, " I suggest a new strategy, R2... let the Wookie win".

I put a new set of low Millet Angle-loc rings on the Voere and rezeroed it today… love that rifle.  My wife lets me zero it… she took it away from me some time ago.
Using 125gr Remington ammo… shoots like a dream…

Lori loves the ammo… recoil is almost non-existent.  I may even talk her into hunting with me this year… I hope…

Forgot to mention… eyebox on this scope is even better than I remembered… typical Zeiss quality.  It is as good as my Hensoldt… no wonder my wife bought me a Hensoldt.

Dan,
That's a fine rifle and scope combo and it obviously is a shooter. You were thoughtful enough to select a rifle in the appropriate caliber.

Did you get the model w/Mannlicher stock?

Why isn't the Federal ammo good for hunting?

I got several boxes of .30-06 Fed. 165s in a trade, loaded with 165 Sierra GKs and Speer 165 TBBCs, but haven't shot any, yet. Also got several boxes of Fed. 180's w/Partitions and GK's. I see no reason why any of this ammo wouldn't be good for hunting.
Of course, there aren't any charging hippos around here, so no need for a little thicker bullet, but there ain't a cow in Oklahoma that would stand up to the rough treatment of any of these loads.
