Has anyone had a chane to try any of Leupold's new offerings? I have been trying to get a pair of Alumina Flip-Up scope covers but cannot seem to find any business that has them in stock.

I am looking for a 50mm objective cover and a eyepiece cover to fit a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x50mm Long Range scope. Which eyepiece cover fits this scope?
Thanks STWSniper |

I am from Canada so I will have to purchase these somewhere else, probably Cabela's if they ever get them in stock.

Leupold part # 59050 for the 50mm obj cover. # 59055 on the eye piece flip cover. Forgot that you were in Canada. |

Join the crowd. I have had them ordered from SWFA for over two months. I canceled once for a site that showed to have them only to find out that they take your order and don't tell you they are not in stock. I am beginning to think the Leupold speaks with fork tongue. They are really ticking me off to their products. Cabelas has some stuff. I need the 59055 and 59045 flip up caps. Good luck, Merle |

I know what you mean. It is a little frustrating that there seems to be no one who has them in stock. I have been waiting to see if Cabela's has them but they always say "item not in stock". If this keeps up for too much longer I will say to **** with Leupold and just order some Butler Creek Flip-Ups for my VX-III.

Finally ordered a set of Alumina scope covers for my Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x50mm LR scope. I guess it is about time Cabela's got them in stock. Would have ordered from SWFA but I am from Canada.

The Alumina scope covers seem to be on the market now.In my opinion they are worth the wait and the price too. They are very "precision" looking and super quiet and function very smooth. The only problem I have had is that on my gun(Rem mountain rifle,Leo 2.5-8x36,with Leo low mounts) I had to remove the scope to screw on the front cover. With medium or high mounts this may not be a problem.

Yes I finally was able to order a pair from Cabela's. I will report on how well they work in the field when I get a chance to take my 7mm STW out hunting for mule deer this fall. I really like how you can have the covers open with a low profile to keep them out of the way. Maybe Butler Creek will come out with something similar.
