I am interested in biocular adapters which allow you to look through a single lens spotting scope with both eyes. Here is an example of what I am talking about:
http://www.nightvisionplanet.com/ATN_Accessory_Bi_Ocular_Kit_4x_for_PS14_System_p/atn-bi-ocular-kit-4x.htm These are often seen attached to night vision scopes. I have been experimenting with a home built night vision rig which has dual crt displays but I find this causes alot of eye strain no matter how well adjusted the tubes are. So I am considering removing one of the displays and using a single display with a biocular adapter. I am not satisfied with a monocular view in this design. I am not sure what method is best for splitting the image from the display for projection to seperate viewing lenses. It looks as though the easiest method is to use two small sections of beamsplitter glass or a prism cube built specially for this. Does anyone here have knowledge of how this is achieved in professional rigs like the one I linked to? |
