I found this beauty at a gun show last month. It needs a scope. I would like your ideas. This will be used to do some varmint hunting PD's, yotes, groundhog and bobcats........I would probably spend up to 300.00. I would really like to find a scope from that time frame 1969-1973. According to the books they only made about 7000 of these. I was happier than a cold hog in a warm mud hole when I spotted this beauty.....Thanks

Good for you. That should be a lot of fun shooting that rifle.

Given your described shooting situations and budget, I'm going with my old stand by, the 3-9x Nikon Primos. Really hard to beat the price.
Or the Bushnell 3-9x 4200 if your not down with the BDC reticle in the Nikon.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

Hope you can find ammo. I've heard it was hard to find.

The original ammo is hard to find and when you do it cost about 30.00 for 50 rds avg. If you are familiar with Aquila ammo out of Mexico they started making it again called Centurion 5MM it sales for about 15.00 for a box of 50 rds.
Thanks CT the Elite is on the list for sure.....

Good to know that. It is a neat little rifle, and I'm glad you'll be able to shoot it!
