40 gr. Ballistic Silvertip.  Anybody shoot these loads?  I just picked up 4 boxes from my local Dick's for $15.27/box of 20.  Wonder if that was a good deal or not and if they are nice shooters.
take em!

I like them for my 30-06 they shoot very well in that rifle. I traded Rem Corlokts with a buddy whose rifle didn't like the Winchesters. You rifle may or may not like them.

ive never had luck with win supreme ammo, i tried in in my old 25 wssm and my 300wsm and they both got beat badly in the accuracy dept by the standard win x ammo

I've had the same experience Pyro had, none of my guns liked the Supreme (.22-250 & .270), but loved the standard power point.  Guess you know what you have to do next.

I bought these as back-up/defense rounds in case of emergency.  My gun actually likes those remanufactured 55gr. SP rounds made by: Ultramax  .  I'm just wondering if I got a great deal or just ok.  If they shoot good, that's just a bonus!

My BAR '06 likes the Supreme stuff I've shot in it pretty good!  I'm just not sold on the Ballistic Silvertips on deer, in that there doesn't seem to be much difference in performance from the cheaper stuff... so why pay more!
take em!

As far as .223 ammo I suggest you go to the 69gr SMK.  Be aware that the really heavy stuff like the 80 gr SMK and the 75 gr AMAX are too long when loaded to work in an AR mag they are single shot stuff for competition at 600 yds.  I try to stay with the heaviest stuff I can find that will work in a mag. Some 75 and 77 stuff will work.  You need to start reloading those are almost a dollar a round.  This is a tough time to do that because it is really hard to get primers.

My 14" Contender likes the 40 gr .223. I haven't shot anything but paper, but they are good enough for two hundred yards in the pistol.
